Pneumonia

One of the worst nightmares anyone can ever go through is to suffer from diseases and die from it. If you ask anybody, you cannot bare or imagine this happening to yourself especially your loved ones. They say diseases are inevitable, this may be true but it can be prevented from becoming worse. Smoking is one of the habits that people cling on to when they’re mad, sad, happy and glad. Whatever happening there is, people turn to smoking because they are already addicted to it. Eventually, this addiction will lead them to their worst health nightmares.

One of the leading causes of pneumonia is smoking. Pneumonia is a condition where the lungs goes through an inflammation. The development of this disease is caused by bacterial, viral and fungal infections that has reached the alveoli inside the lungs. The moment this occurs, the fluid fills the alveoli and it creates an inflammation in the lungs.

You will know that you have acquired pneumonia when you cough with mucus, you have a fever and you’re shaking, your breathing becomes shallow and you are short of breath. There may also be chest pains, your heart rate increases; you experience fatigue, nausea, throwing up and diarrhea.

Pneumonia can also be deadly, there are some who have suffered from it and it has already become severe to the point that it has led to the death of the patient. However, pneumonia is not contagious since it is centered in the lungs and that makes it less infectious. The person who is exposed to someone who has pneumonia may catch colds and coughs, but it is highly unlikely for them to get contaminated. Yet, if the person has a weak immune system, recovery from this disease is not guaranteed.

Coughs and colds may not be as complicated as it sounds, but you can never be sure if it’s just as simple as that or it has already gone worse like pneumonia. It’s best to maintain good health to avoid acquiring diseases such as this. Quit smoking now to keep the immune system strong and healthy.
