Bronchitis

We have a lot of organs and systems functioning inside our body. These organs and systems are very important but if we don’t take care of it, it will lead us to our untimely demise. Smoking can cause a lot of damage in our body and in our health, and the best way to do it is to quit the habit or at least stay away from those who smoke. It is also said to be 90% of the reason why most people acquire diseases that cause their death.

Smoking causes bronchitis because the chemicals that a cigarette smoke contain is enough to irritate the lining of the bronchial tubes. Bronchitis is a disease that hits the respiratory system. This is an inflammation of the mucous membrane in the lungs bronchial passages, and it occurs recurrently during the winter season. There are two kinds of bronchitis, acute and chronic. Acute Bronchitis is the type of condition in which it is only short-lived while chronic bronchitis is the type that lasts for a long time. Chronic bronchitis is one to likely cause infection to the sufferer.

The patient can also acquire bronchitis when he constantly goes through gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. This is a condition where the stomach acids back up into the food pipe again and again. Smokers will find it hard to recover once they have acquired acute bronchitis, and if they continue smoking this disease will progress into the chronic form. When this happens, it becomes a serious and long term disorder that will require the patient to submit himself to medical treatment regularly.

You will know you have bronchitis when you exhibit the symptoms like a cough, sore throat, chest discomfort and mucous. When you continue to keep smoking, this condition becomes worse than you can imagine.

Smokers and non-smokers should take heed because no one is exempted from getting any kind of disease, especially ones that caused by smoking. Every one of us should take good care of our health to be able to live a long and healthy life, so it is best to quit smoking.
